decorate / new comforter

For the last six months, I’ve been sleeping under a hand me down, down comforter. It’s a generous hand me down and a very nice Laura Ashley comforter. But unfortunately it was a twin. Which was fine in the summer, but overall not the right size for my bed. And it also didn’t have a cover and I didn’t want to spend over $100 on a duvet cover in what was ultimately the wrong size. Plus, many of the duvet covers I loved were predominately white and knowing I was going to get white sheets soon and have white walls, I was looking for something to anchor the room a bit. Enter: the West Elm Cloud Comforter. I loved the navy with a touch of white and I loved that it was a comforter so it was machine wash AND I didn’t have to fuss with a duvet cover (I didn’t grow up with them and I think they’re a huge pain). I was hesitant to pull the trigger at $169 for the full/queen, but when it went on sale a few weeks ago, I just had to. (Thank goodness for the second job!)

And I love it. It’s a cozy and it’s big enough and I know I’ll have it for years to come.
