wed / glitter girl

#weddingwednesday is here already! I love short weeks :)
As my friends and family can attest, I am huge fan of sparkles and glitter and I’m in love with this new take on a flower girl…

…a glitter girl! A bowl of gold sequins is a surefire way to make a special girl in your life excited!

sip / wine guide

The last couple years wine has more and more become my libation of choice. I love this handy little chart from Grape and Grain. Cheers!

weekend / summer

Happy long weekend my dears! Anyone have any exciting plans? I’m planning to take it easy and get ready for a fun week next week: making my friend a birthday dinner, going to the Boston Ballet, and leaving for a wedding in Las Vegas.
Here are some fun things from around the interwebs…
I’m loving this dress and this dress, but can’t come up with an excuse to get one.
Tory Burch stores are pretty freaking awesome!
I tried two new easy dinner recipes this week and LOVED them. Orecchiette with Leeks, Peas, and Pecorino (I might add Pancetta next time) and Korean Beef Bowls.
I FINALLY read Dan Brown’s Inferno this week. Amazing as always.
An MBTA map of Boston/Cambridge bars. I agree with some, but not others. Thoughts?

wed / bouquet

Spring is finally here to stay (it seems) in Boston and I couldn’t be more excited for weddings! This bouquet from Gathering Floral and Event Design is so soft and stunning that I just had to share.

quote / it's ok

Lately I’ve been (once again) trapped in the feeling that I am failing at juggling everything: work, boyfriend, friends, family, eating well, working out, a clean/nice apartment, and on and on. Of course I am well aware of what’s important to me and what’s not, but when things get busy it’s easy to lose sight of priorities. So this week, I’m focusing on the important things.
Zosia Mamet recently wrote an article that captures EXACTLY how I feel. Shout out to Zosia!

wed / two things

1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hairdo for a bride:

2. The Everygirl posted an awesome 12 month wedding timeline. See it here.

listen / icona pop

I can’t stop listening to “I Love It” by Icona Pop. It feels badass and sassy and I feel like I should be stomping down a catwalk.

wear / nail polish pairings

Every time the seasons change, I get really excited to change up my nail polish colors. In the fall I’m always eager to use some of my fall favorites and in the spring, I can’t wait for bright pinks and orange-reds. Lauren Conrad recently posted some fun mani/pedi pairings for spring/summer and I love them!

I have been loving pale pink and cobalt blue lately and that was the very first pair on her list. Personally, I would use Zoya Olivia and Essie Butler Please.
What colors do you love for warm weather?

weekend

I’m glad it’s the weekend! I have bit plans to lay low, get to a Zumba class, pick up my apartment, calling my wonderful Mommy!, and hopefully cross a couple things off my 101 in 1001 list. I haven’t done a weekend links post in a few weeks, but here are some that have caught my attention recently.
This 16 year old girl took photos of herself dressed in each decade from 1920’s onward.
Entrepreneur Magazine has some really interesting articles about the most trusted brands and their secrets.
Electrolux’s Now you’re Cooking Blog.
An interesting article about first born children—I’m a big believer in birth order theories.

wed / modern cake

This graphic cake is #thebomb. While I probably wouldn’t go so graphic for my own wedding, I would love to work with a couple who loves this style. Modern for sure! Check out the designer and the whole wedding here.

decorate / bookshelves

Back in February I blogged about wanting to wall mount shelving in my living room. The more I thought about the cost and logistics though, the more I realized that wall mounting on my old walls might not be the best option. As I hunted for an affordable bookshelf that offered plenty of storage AND wasn’t too bulky, I kept circling back to the often hacked and paintedIkea Vittsjo.
I’m happy to report that not only did I successfully assemble the shelves 100% by myself, but I am in love with how it looks (sneak peaks on Instagram). Now I just have to finish styling them! Here’s a little inspiration I’ve collected:

I love the gold leafed/painted Vittsjos in the last photo. I’m contemplating silver leaf painting mine, but decided to live with the black metal for a bit before committing. I’m sure more styling updates will come on Instagram!

can't stop listening to / lana del rey

I know it’s not a new song, but I can’t stop listening to Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful”. I liked it when it first was released, but after watching Gatsby for the first time a couple weeks ago, I have a whole new love affair with her song. I also really love "American". Happy listening!
