Happy weekend!! I sadly didn’t have time to put links together, but I’ll be back next week! Have a good weekend!

wed / candlelit ceremony

Cold weather always makes me fall in love all over again with candle lit, cozy spaces. This candle lined ceremony space just takes my breath away!

inspired / burgundy and orangey-red

I have a color combination that I just can’t seem to get out of my head.
Last year Michelle Dockery (one of my very favorite actresses) wore this Prada stunner to the Emmys.

And then Amy Adams just wore this Valentino gown to this year’s Golden Globes.

I’m just in love with Cabernet and orangey-red. My favorite everyday interpretation is my Cabernet turtleneck from JCrew paired with an orangey-red lip stain.
What you think? Would you try this combination?

The most darling carousel I’ve ever seen. And I really don’t pass up an opportunity to ride one.
An interesting article on birth order (something I think is VERY true).
I hate the hassle of ironing and need one of these.
10 questions to ask your mother (Mom, can we do this next time I see you?)

three little spaces

For my next installment of three little spaces, I picked three spaces that incorporate black. Maybe that’s telling me something?

wear / jcrew and madewell

Between the promise of spring to come and just starting a new job (always an excuse for new clothes), I have my eye on some fun new wardrobe additions for spring. I always love Madewell and JCrew, and they aren’t disappointing me! Here are a few things on my list.

{adorable French Print Popover / Sunburst Skirt in Stripe / Darby Eyelet Loafers / Crystal Venus Flytrap Necklace, perfect for almost every outfit / brand new crisp white Perfect Shirt / stunning blue D’orsay Flats from Madewell / Navy Schoolboy Blazer}
Also on my radar: a Barbour jacket for spring (I plan to add a liner in the fall) and these sparklers for date nights.
Happy spring shopping!

quote / blow your mind

I may have posted this before, but it deserves a re-post. It’s a new week, so go out there and GET IT!

celebrate / valentine's day

Happy Valentine’s Day!! I usually get very into Valentine’s Day, but this year I’m not going so all out. My boyfriend and I went to Providence, RI last weekend (see my recap here) and that was our gift to each other. Plus I got him this adorable little book from Paper Source. I recommend as a cute last minute gift!

What are you doing this Valentine’s Day?

decorate / bookshelves

I have a wall in my living room that is to one’s right when you first walk into the room. When the door is open, there are about 65” of open wall. Currently there is a too small for the space bookshelf that I’m hoping to replace with some wall shelves to hold books, pretty objects, a bar area, and center around a piece of art. Here is my inspiration:

Now the question is shelves with brackets, floating shelves, or shelves on the metal tracks.

wed / gilded cake

How gorgeously glam-yet-rustic is this gilded fig cake?

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

travel / providence

I don’t know about everyone else, but I have had such a bad case of wanderlust the last several months. This weekend my boyfriend and I took the train down to Providence as an early Valentine’s Day celebration and it was awesome!! Close enough that travel was crazy easy, but seeing new places, trying new restaurants and of course a cozy hotel bed were just the thing to hold over my urge to travel and explore.
Train selfie.

We stayed at the Hotel Providence. The staff was really nice and the hot chocolate and tea/coffee in the lobby at different parts of the day was lovely.

And this adorable pillow was on the bed.

On Saturday we had amazing brunch at Nick’s on BroadwayItalian rosemary ham with egg, local tomato, basil pesto + provolone cheese for me and Baked Schartner Farm corn, butternut squash + Vermont cheddar polenta with two eggs, Parmesan cheese,  pumpkin seed pesto + baby spinach for A. Food was AWESOME, but know there is likely to be a wait.

(Sorry that last one is a little blurry!) And then we wandered into a couple cool stores, including this record store right next to Nick’s.

Dinner at The Dorrance was outstanding!!!! The decor is so pretty and the food was delicious (especially the pear cobbler for dessert).

Sunday morning we slept in, had breakfast in the hotel, wandered into some really cute shops nearby (Craft Land was our favorite) and headed home.
I hope to make my travels and travel wishlist a regular post around here. Thoughts?

quote / don't worry

I just started a new job late last week and I admit the new challenge has me a little nervous. I needed this reminder to be prepared as I can and go from there.

February 7, 2014

This week for my Friday weekend photo I wanted to share a few links that caught my eye this week.
First this beautiful picture of Muhammad and Laila Ali by Michael Gaffney:

Yesterday for the first time I made rugelach. My grandma would be proud :)
Last year I bought Madewell’s afternoon dress in red and LOVE it. It’s back again and I have my eye on the green.
I am getting back on top of organizing my file box. Here’s a great guide.
Happy weekend!
