local / boston marathon

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by the attacks in Copley at the Boston Marathon yesterday. I am forever grateful that all my people are safe and sound and grateful to everyone who checked that I was safe. Marathon Monday is one of the very best times to be in Boston and no one can take that away from this city.
I am not the best with words, so I leave with the beautifully written words of someone else.

eat / bacon and pea mac and cheese

I really love to cook. On weeknights, cooking something fancy is often out of the question. One of my go to quick dinners became bacon and peas with pasta and parmesan on top. I loved this because not is it SO GOOD but parm and bacon keep well in the fridge and I always have frozen peas and dried pasta at home.
And then I found this recipe and it blew my mind. I still don’t always take the time to make this the fancy way, but when I do, it is to die for.

wear / cobalt and red

I’ve been obsessed with this color combination from the second I saw it. I love that it’s bold and springy all at once! My interpretation is Essie Geranium on my fingers and Essie Butler Please on my toes. What colors are you wearing?

read / the skimm

Hopefully I’m not alone in this—I sometimes feel a little out of the loop current events-wise. I consider myself to be pretty on top of things, but when the topic of current events comes up (particularly political or global issues), I’m often left with nothing to say. (Ask my friends, I never have nothing to say.) I just discovered The Skimm last week and I love it! Every weekday, a daily email of the important headlines pops up in my inbox with a few key points written in a slightly sassy, girls only tone. Sign up here: http://www.theskimm.com/
Where do you get your daily information? Now I’m looking to add a couple more headline type sites/emails to my routine!
