weekend

This pumpkin party cooler from THE Martha Stewart is so easy and adorable! It makes me want to throw a Halloween party!! Anyone have some fun plans for tonight? I'll be poking around Beacon Hill with some friends/coworkers.

It's been awhile since I posted links and it's high time I brought that back.

In case you missed it, be sure to check out my Charleston recap.

These dogs of the world posters are so cute!

It seems like all of my favorite bloggers are doing the One Room Challenge and I'm especially loving the living room Mackenzie is doing and Molly's new bedroom

A and I have been on a bit of a BBQ kick and can't quite decide if we like Soul Fire or Sweet Cheeks better.

wear / southern belle

While I was in Charleston, I of course stopped into the C Wonder store since there isn't one in Boston and spotted these flats. I knew they were a necessary wardrobe addition, but I was hoping to wait for a sale or promo. I happened to take a look online a few days later and saw they were sold out so I quickly made a call to the Charleston store and they are on their way to me! If "Southern Belle" doesn't describe you, be sure to check out the "City Girl" pair

This gorgeous photo taken by Elizabeth Messina also features the most delicious looking bouquet and I just had to share. Happy #weddingwednesday!

travel / charleston

I have returned from my trip to Charleston and after a crazy couple days of catching up at work, I am mostly back to normal. I hope some of you followed along on Instagram but I wanted to share some of my favorite snapshots, along with some pictures I didn't share on Instagram. Here's a quick recap of the trip!

Day 1 / Travel and QT with Mom, Dad and Carly (the dog)

Day 2 / Poked around King Street and helped put together a bachelorette party for my friend who got married. Carly tried on my necklace too.

Day 3 / Took A to the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant and then we all had dinner at my grandparent's.

Day 4 / Wedding on Edisto!

Day 5 / Dinner at Husk...Amazing!!!!

Day 6 / Explored the Historic District with A, and a quick trip to see my grandparents and the beach

Day 7 / Breakfast with my brother and some window shopping on King Street before the airport

Sorry for such a long post, but trips home to Charleston are always so fun!!!

travel / charleston

It has been a busy couple of weeks at work. I could not be more excited to slow down, eat good food, see my family, show A more of Charleston and dance the night away at my friend's wedding on Edisto. I'm flying out tomorrow and in an effort to truly unplug I won't be posting here until later next week. I'll definitely be on Instagram and maybe Pinterest and Tumblr, so be sure to follow along!

This floral arrangement is so perfect I want to eat it!!! Happy fall and happy Thursday.

wed / diy embossed napkins

I pinned this DIY image a long long time ago and unfortunately the link doesn't work anymore. That said, this wedding project looks beyond simple. Buy basic cocktail napkins in your colors, order an embosser, (open some wine and put on a fun movie), and stamp away!

One tip from my wedding experience: make more napkins than you think you need and keep a stash for yourself! Guests usually go through more napkins than you expect and it's better to have too many than too few.

I'd love to see the results if anyone tries this!

listen / tove lo

I can't get this song out of my head. That is all.

What's stuck in your head?

quote / soul mates

I may have posted this before and I know it's a little cheesy, but it's so true. A and I celebrate a whole year together this week and I couldn't resist being super-duper mushy.

Have a great week!

decorate / boston brownstone

I love interiors and I especially love when I come across one in Boston. I feel a closer connection to the space; maybe I've met the inhabitants if only in passing or maybe I've admired the exterior of the building. This "gorgeously layered Boston brownstone" caught my eye on Pinterest and I feel like I could move in tomorrow. My favorite elements are the textured or patterned neutrals layered with pops of color. I tend to choose more neutral paint colors and invest in more neutral furniture and then accessorizing in color. Any interiors catching your attention lately?

wed / capri

{source}

I'll be honest...I have no idea who Erica Pelosini and Louis Leeman are. But when I saw their Capri wedding on The Coveteur I stopped in my tracks. Never have I seen a wedding so untraditional in the BEST way. Every single detail of the weekend from the clothes to the setting so clearly is reflective of who the bride and groom are, regardless of the "right" way of doing things.

The lesson here is screw tradition! Do what feels right whether that means a short wedding dress, fruit on the tables instead of flowers, or riding to the ceremony on a mini construction truck.

If you're married or planning a wedding, what did you do/are you planning that's outside the box? I would love to hear new ideas!
