weekend

How GORGEOUS is this table styling? Not only is Jose Villa a stellar photographer, but the oyster shell tablescape by Joy Thigpen is so beautiful.
Happy Friday everyone!! It’s hot hot hot in Boston this weekend and I’m looking forward to relaxing, spending time with my girl friends, and taking some portraits with my dear friend Ashley (pending my randomly strained back feels better). Any good weekend plans?

weekend

Happy long weekend!! I feel as though I should have fabulous beach plans, but as the Boston forecast reads grey, cool, and rainy, I’m looking forward to a weekend to recharge. I have a friend’s birthday party, brunch plans for Saturday and potentially some new head shots with my dear friend Ashley.
And on the downtime side I’m thinking about seeing a movie alone…

Painting my nails Essie Geranium…

Maybe baking…

and getting these jeans I’ve been needing. (I’m patting myself on the back for waiting until they went on sale.)

Have a fun, safe weekend! What are you up to?

wear / shorter hair!

If you follow me on Instagram (@awinkasmile), you might have seen that I cut my hair!! I would say I took off maybe 5-6 inches. It feels so much lighter and a bit more grown up. And I’m not gonna lie, JuliaMolly, and Liz's new 'dos encouraged me  to take the plunge recently.
Anyone else change up their look lately?

diy / euro sham fabric

I just ordered three yards of this beautiful fabric to make some Euro shams for my bed…

{from Etsy}
…and I can’t WAIT for it to come in the mail!
Don’t you just love waiting for packages?
Happy Monday!

diy / fringed birthday numbers

How fun are these fringed numbers? This tutorial is for a birthday party, but it would be so cute to do a wedding date for the reception! It’s always great when you can customize the colors and size too.

celebrate / mothers day

Happy Mother’s Day to the best mommy I could ask for. Thanks for teaching me how to have parties without going crazy, how to swim and love the beach, patience and empathy, the value of my education, and how to clean (but also know when there are more important things). I love you, Mom!
Edit 6/11/13: And THANK YOU for being so wonderful about snail mail. It makes my day every single time and I’m so lucky that you take the time to write.
