101 in 1001 2.0 / recap

Somehow my second 101 in 1001 list has come to an end. Officially my cutoff date was May 29, 2016, but June was crazy and now that I'm about ready to kick off my new list, I wanted to wrap up the last one! Some items I checked off in the final months...

36. Take a staycation and spend the night in a hotel. A and I spend the night at The Liberty hotel in Boston in May and it was soooo nice to just be away for the night. We watched tv, ordered breakfast in bed, and I took a long very bubbly bubble bath.

51. Nothing exciting to show, but I finally did a deep clean of the apartment myself. I straight up Googled cleaning tips and my biggest takeaway was to get thee some microfiber cloths. I got these from Amazon and they've been perfect not only for cleaning, but as dish towels!

64. Read 30 new books. Click here for some of my favorites

84. Write a new list. Coming soon!!

89. Plan a wedding. I help friends and family here and there and of course get to help clients at work. But now I'm working on ours!!

97. I learned a little Photoshop while working on our Save the Dates/Invites.

100. Take a creative class. My friend and I scored a Gilt City voucher for a floral arranging class. So fun!

Anyone else working on a 101 in 1001 list? Leave me the link the comments!

101 in 1001 / books to read

I'm so so so close to the end of my 101 in 1001 list and one goal I'm focusing on big time is reading 30 books. Here are some recent books that I really liked and recommend:

I have 5 more books to read before May 29th (when my list ends). I definitely want to read the sequel to Crazy Rich Asians, China Rich Girlfriend, but that leaves 4 more. Any suggestions for me?

three little spaces

It's been awhile since I did a three little spaces post. As I write this, I'm cuddled on the couch with the TV on and some candles lit and I'm dreaming of pretty spaces.

decorate / bookshelves

Back in February I blogged about wanting to wall mount shelving in my living room. The more I thought about the cost and logistics though, the more I realized that wall mounting on my old walls might not be the best option. As I hunted for an affordable bookshelf that offered plenty of storage AND wasn’t too bulky, I kept circling back to the often hacked and paintedIkea Vittsjo.
I’m happy to report that not only did I successfully assemble the shelves 100% by myself, but I am in love with how it looks (sneak peaks on Instagram). Now I just have to finish styling them! Here’s a little inspiration I’ve collected:

I love the gold leafed/painted Vittsjos in the last photo. I’m contemplating silver leaf painting mine, but decided to live with the black metal for a bit before committing. I’m sure more styling updates will come on Instagram!

weekend

Don’t these lovely ladies make you itch for a dressy masquerade party? Reminds me of my junior prom…
A few things I’m loving this week:
I did some Dine Out Boston eating over the past two weeks. My favorites were the brussel sprout caesar salad at Met Back Bay, the Elote Con Chili atZocalo (never had it? find a Mexican or tapas place STAT), and the Papardalle with Lamb Ragu at Clink.
I’m re-reading Ella Enchanted for the zillionth time. That book is one of my very favorites and I’ve been falling in love with Ella and Char all over again.
Sur la Table sent me a mini catalogue; who knew there were so many fruit specific tools?!
I’m newly addicted to Veep.
Am I the only one who loved diagramming sentences?
JCrew does it again with this fun color film.
And a few design tips from the masters.
Happy weekend-ing!!

decorate / my apartment bookshelf

I’ve been on a book buying spree (especially coffee table books) over the last couple months and I’m in the process of styling this bookshelf. I currently have some shelves in my bedroom with most of my novels but my bigger books and Martha Stewart Weddings magazines have been shelved in the living room. (Side note: I need to paint this bookshelf. Maybe white with robin’s egg blue in the back?) Without further ado, I would like to share my recent book additions top to bottom:
What coffee table books (or any books) do you recommend?
