travel / providence

I don’t know about everyone else, but I have had such a bad case of wanderlust the last several months. This weekend my boyfriend and I took the train down to Providence as an early Valentine’s Day celebration and it was awesome!! Close enough that travel was crazy easy, but seeing new places, trying new restaurants and of course a cozy hotel bed were just the thing to hold over my urge to travel and explore.
Train selfie.

We stayed at the Hotel Providence. The staff was really nice and the hot chocolate and tea/coffee in the lobby at different parts of the day was lovely.

And this adorable pillow was on the bed.

On Saturday we had amazing brunch at Nick’s on BroadwayItalian rosemary ham with egg, local tomato, basil pesto + provolone cheese for me and Baked Schartner Farm corn, butternut squash + Vermont cheddar polenta with two eggs, Parmesan cheese,  pumpkin seed pesto + baby spinach for A. Food was AWESOME, but know there is likely to be a wait.

(Sorry that last one is a little blurry!) And then we wandered into a couple cool stores, including this record store right next to Nick’s.

Dinner at The Dorrance was outstanding!!!! The decor is so pretty and the food was delicious (especially the pear cobbler for dessert).

Sunday morning we slept in, had breakfast in the hotel, wandered into some really cute shops nearby (Craft Land was our favorite) and headed home.
I hope to make my travels and travel wishlist a regular post around here. Thoughts?
