inspired / chanel

In my usual Pinterest wandering I stumbled upon these detail shots from the 2015 Chanel Couture show and they are show stoppers! I can only imagine how much work is involved in creating these amazing garments. What's inspiring you lately?

weekend

Happy Friday! I am heading to Charleston early tomorrow for one of my dear friend's wedding and to see my family. I hope everyone has fabulous plans! Here are a few links for the weekend:

I just ordered this dress in onyx and whitewash at a steal! I can't wait to wear them with colorful accessories. (It also comes in red!)

Amazing romantic comedy interiors.

I admit I was a liiiittle skeptical about Marie Kondo, but then I refolded my whole T-shirt drawer and I'm a believer. (I also gave away some items that I was holding onto just because they were gifts.) Here are a few tips from Marie to get you started.

Missing a piece or two of china or silver? I know where to find the replacements

inspired / summer color

{source unknown via Pinterest}

Fifty-five degree weather and pouring rain aside, summer seems like it has finally arrived in Boston. Between the warm weather, fruity cocktails, and a new (to me) apartment to settle into, I am craving some fresh and bold color.

Sorry for the absence. Work has been nuts since we're a person short and I was prepping to move. More posts to come soon...I'm thinking 2-3 times per week.

Happy June!

local / haymarket

On Saturday, A and I went to Haymarket (the actual market, not the T stop) to pick out a ton of produce and figure out what to make later. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THE AWESOMENESS?!?!?!

For $11 we got 6 quarts of strawberries (in our over-excitement, we didn’t inspect them closely, so only about 2.5 quarts were edible), 2 pints of blackberries, a bulb of fennel, 2 lbs of potatoes, 2 eggplant, a papaya, 9 radishes, 4 jalapenos, 2 avocado, 2 tomatoes, a zucchini, and a bunch of asparagus. I will be taking FULL advantage for the remainder of the season. I even walk right past the market on my way to the gym on Fridays and never stopped to look.
We threw veggies on the grill, but of course those berries needed some brown sugar and butter…

…and vanilla ice cream…

Delicious. I used a recipe from Pinterest

weekend / summer

Happy long weekend my dears! Anyone have any exciting plans? I’m planning to take it easy and get ready for a fun week next week: making my friend a birthday dinner, going to the Boston Ballet, and leaving for a wedding in Las Vegas.
Here are some fun things from around the interwebs…
I’m loving this dress and this dress, but can’t come up with an excuse to get one.
Tory Burch stores are pretty freaking awesome!
I tried two new easy dinner recipes this week and LOVED them. Orecchiette with Leeks, Peas, and Pecorino (I might add Pancetta next time) and Korean Beef Bowls.
I FINALLY read Dan Brown’s Inferno this week. Amazing as always.
An MBTA map of Boston/Cambridge bars. I agree with some, but not others. Thoughts?

wear / nail polish pairings

Every time the seasons change, I get really excited to change up my nail polish colors. In the fall I’m always eager to use some of my fall favorites and in the spring, I can’t wait for bright pinks and orange-reds. Lauren Conrad recently posted some fun mani/pedi pairings for spring/summer and I love them!

I have been loving pale pink and cobalt blue lately and that was the very first pair on her list. Personally, I would use Zoya Olivia and Essie Butler Please.
What colors do you love for warm weather?

weekend

I’m glad it’s the weekend! I have bit plans to lay low, get to a Zumba class, pick up my apartment, calling my wonderful Mommy!, and hopefully cross a couple things off my 101 in 1001 list. I haven’t done a weekend links post in a few weeks, but here are some that have caught my attention recently.
This 16 year old girl took photos of herself dressed in each decade from 1920’s onward.
Entrepreneur Magazine has some really interesting articles about the most trusted brands and their secrets.
Electrolux’s Now you’re Cooking Blog.
An interesting article about first born children—I’m a big believer in birth order theories.

weekend

I feel like summer is slipping through my fingers and I’m trying to catch all the last little pieces I can. This weekend brings seeing some family friends from out of town who are looking at colleges and an event for work in Bristol, RI (I’ve never been!).

I hope everyone has nice plans for grilling, the beach, baseball games, pool time, or picnics in the park!

eat / summer pasta salad

Summer is here and I am SO glad to see tomatoes back in season. Every time I flip through my saved recipes on my iPad, I want to make all these wonderful tomato based recipes from Bon Appetit last summer and can’t due to sad tomatoes in my New England grocery stores (I miss the South!).
I’m sure many of you saw this summer salad floating around Pinterest the last few days, but I couldn’t resist sharing. Once my back stops hurting me endlessly, it’s the top of my recipe to-do list!

What are you dying to cook this summer?
