Once upon a time my cousin’s fiancee told me that she was thinking about a beach wedding. She was thinking about sea glass blues and white. They’re having a more fall-ish wedding this year (can’t wait!) but since I’ve been getting as much beach time as I can in while I’m home in Charleston, I thought this would be appropriate.

I am blown away by this dress. I’m sure many of you have seen weddings where brides wear a traditional white Western wedding dress for their ceremony and a traditional cheongsam or similar for their reception (or some combination thereof). But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this bride combined the obi belt from a kimono with a white dress. It also doesn’t hurt that Caroline Tran captured breathtaking pictures of the bride on the beach. Here’s a close up of the silk on the obi:

My roommate L was Skyping with her best friend Jack last week and we started talking weddings. I promised him an inspiration board that captured his vision of Nantucket, outdoors, and somewhat casual but classy. It’s a bit summery, but aren’t we all dreaming of summer?
