So I fell hard off the goals wagon. April kind of turned on it’s head and I lost sight of my focuses. March (and I guess April) was supposed to be a time to catch up on the goals I hadn’t completed from January and February. (I can’t believe it’s May…I feel like 2013 just started full of hope and promise. It seemed like everyone was particularly optimistic for 2013 and I wish it would last a little longer! I digress…) Since we last checked in, I did complete several financial goals, stained the wood shelf in the kitchen so that it’s wipe-able, bought frames for the living room, and instead of painting the bookshelf in the living room, I decided to leave it unpainted for now.
May hopefully brings actual spring to Boston and I want to focus on friends and family. Fittingly, May includes a long weekend at home in Charleston for my grandpa’s 80th birthday! I also have a few goals on my list:
1. Take my mom out to brunch for Mother’s Day (a very merry un-Mother’s Day!)
2. Spend time with my daddy, brother and grandparents too of course!
3. Make dinner for friends at least 3 times.
4. Snail mail cards to at least 5 friends/family.
5. Get together with a friend I haven’t seen in at least 6 months.
6. Organize a girls night (in or out).
I hope everyone else is having beautiful sunny weather too!
With a wink and a smile,
Ellie

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by the attacks in Copley at the Boston Marathon yesterday. I am forever grateful that all my people are safe and sound and grateful to everyone who checked that I was safe. Marathon Monday is one of the very best times to be in Boston and no one can take that away from this city.
I am not the best with words, so I leave with the beautifully written words of someone else.
