Quotes, Readings, and Vows: "We Will Not Wish You...
We will not wish you joy on this great day, For joy is in your hearts and goes with you Along the fragrant, mystic, sunlit way: We will not wish you joy while love is new.
But this is our wish: May you be strong enough To shelter love, and keep it safe from harm, When winds blow high, and roads are steep and tough May you protect your love, preserve its charm.
When days are dark, may love...
I love her and that’s the beginning of everything.

Currently Loving: Crumpled Maps
I am justifying this as wedding related because couples often travel far for their honeymoons and need maps in unfamiliar cities.
I saw these maps on Glamour This! awhile ago and thought of them while I was in San Francisco last week. It’s so cool that you can just throw the map in your bag or pocket without having to fold perfectly along the creases (annoying). Plus it’s waterproof!

Quotes, Readings, and Vows: Pablo Neruda
Sonnet XVII
I don’t love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz or arrow of carnations that propagate fire: I love you as certain dark things are loved, secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom and carries hidden within itself the light of those flowers, and thanks to your love, darkly in my body lives the dense fragrance that...

Color Palette 5
Despite the fact it snowed in Boston on the first day of spring, I am determined to push ahead with hopes for sunnier, warmer weather. I saw this picture of the cakes and fell hard for the color scheme. Hope it brightens your day!

Signature Drinks: Part 2
Now that we’ve talked about the parts of a cocktail, the question becomes how to pick one of your own. I think the first thing is to think about any drinks that might be special to you and your fiancée. Maybe you met over beer pong in college (I don’t recommend serving Keystone at your wedding though) or tried a specialty cocktail at the restaurant on your first date. Maybe the proposal happened...

Signature Drinks: Part 1
I think it’s time to talk about many guests’ favorite part of a wedding: the bar. Whether you have a signature cocktail and beer and wine or a full blown open bar with top shelf liquor, the bar is a great place to show some personality and inject a sentimental element into your wedding.
First let’s talk about the bases of a drink—the liquor. Typically you have:
Vodka
Gin
Whiskey
Tequila

Currently Loving: Cookie Bars
I first read about cookie bars on Weddingbee and learned that they are a Pittsburgh area tradition. I was born in the ‘burgh (though I don’t really remember living there) and was immediately intrigued. What’s even better is that my first word was “cookie”. Apparently it’s a tradition for members of the couple’s family to make (or buy) cookies for a cookie...

Currently Loving: Flower Girls in Tutus
I don’t think I have to say more! What little girl wouldn’t love a tutu. It can be worn again (even if only for dress up), it can be layered over a simple shirt she might already own, and this would be a pretty simple DIY project. Let’s just bask in the cuteness overload:

Quotes, Readings, and Vows: "Colours"
I spent an hour and a half hanging out with one of my favorite hospitality professors (shout out to Prof. Washienko!) the other day and we were talking weddings since his daughter is getting married soon. Of course I showed him my blog and he showed me this lovely poem that would be a wonderful ceremony reading. Enjoy!
